Maths and theoretical CS was once a match made in academic heaven. On the flip side, EE and practical CS were two peas in a pod.

But those halcyon days are all but gone. Today, web coders and LLM promoters are getting PhDs in CS. Back in the day, we called the clerical staff who punched in the scientists’ code and data at the teletype “coders”. I suppose that definition still applies, today.🤷‍♂️

PS—We could return to grad school in our fast approaching retirement. What fun….😀
