RasulAllah never did it himself and neither was it normative practice or something encouraged by the sahabah. when this term is used in polemics what is actually meant is nifaq. and in this case it has lost all connnection to anything permissable and, as i said, become and islamophobic slur. i rest my case with the Gazans who would be justified but do not use it.
