The Cyclops is showing eating people, but we don't see their bodies torn in half, we don't see their blood dripping down its chin, & it is a PROBLEM for me. There's no horror to these scenes. It's just "whoops! There goes a guy."
Nolan uses squishy sounds when something which *should* be gory happens, so that the audience knows it's icky & gross, but he won't show it.
In this bloodless movie, people are brutally killed often, but it will never once make you feel uncomfortable.
