Tubular Sunshine
This is a close-up of a small cluster of yellow, tubular Carolina jessamine flowers (Gelsemium sempervirens). Here in Louisiana, these blooms are everywhere, threading their way through the forest and climbing whatever they can reach. Since they’re a vine, it’s not unusual to see them peeking out from the tops of trees, bright flashes of yellow against the canopy.
