I'm on lemmy.ml, they're all pretty similar, your feed is made of the subs you subscribe to ("community" is the lemmy term, subreddit is the reddit term), you can also view a "local" feed (top posts on your instance), and you can subscribe to subs from any other instance. Note that if your instance goes down, you lose your "identity" and must re-make your account elsewhere, unlike nostr where your identity is portable.
