Just a thought about #YourParty and people's lack of enthusiasm.
I know they fucked up the whole setting up of the party, and they took ages to get this far ...
But I do think some folk dismiss the party because they fear being on the losing team. That is, they don't want to support a party that turns out to be a laughing stock.
The thing is, if not enough people support it, it will never get off the ground. So it gets all a bit catch 22. But I do think people need to feel confident in whatever they are supporting. It's not just a case of agreeing with policies, it's a case of feeling proud of the party they support. Faith they will win.
It's a bit like liking a band. Sometimes people need the endorsement from a music critic before they will feel confident to passionately like a band. I think it works that way sometimes.
There might be music you love, and music you like, but a current scene and endorsement from journalists can turn a likeable band into a band you feel passionate about. The passion comes from social kudos from being a fan of a cool band, and confidence that you won't look like a nob from admitting you like them.
I kinda think the lack of enthusiasm for Your Party is a similar thing.
