what worries me so much about this is dithering and delaying and mismanagement of the response in general has completely poisoned public opinion towards lockdowns and means people probably won't accept one the next time a pandemic comes around. Which is terrifying because in the initial stages it's the only tool we have to slow things long enough to get a handle on how transmission is occuring and figure out how to tackle it
