There should be a vacancy tax on all urban and suburban property types.
Give 1-2 months once vacancy begins without it then start scaling up each month the property remains vacant.
Force developers, landlords, and others to offer up vacant residential, commercial, and industrial units at a fair market price rather than holding onto it for an obscene amount of time asking for a high price.
Obviously there’s nuance that people smarter than me would need to figure out but almost any candidate including this concept in their platform would get my vote.
