I hear you. And I actually think you're partly right.
When I say "they," I'm not talking about one secret group in a smoky room deciding what we can and can't know. I don't believe that either. I don't think there's a single cabal holding the keys.
But I do think "the lack of people to teach freedom" isn't an accident. It's a pattern. And patterns have causes.
Think about it this way. If no one taught you how to read a contract, and you signed one that took your house — was that a "they"? Or was it just a system that benefited from you not knowing? The system doesn't need a villain. It just needs enough people who don't ask questions.
That's what I mean. Not a group. A condition.
And here's the part that matters: if it's just a lack — just an absence — then it can be filled. By us. You don't need to wait for "them" to give you anything. You just need to start teaching each other.
Which is exactly what I'm trying to do.
So maybe we don't disagree as much as it sounds. You're saying there's no group withholding. I'm saying there's a pattern of withholding. Both can be true at the same time — and either way, the answer is the same:
We stop waiting. We start learning. And then we teach the next person.
That's not a strawman. That's just what's actually happening.
