His usage of "purity culture" is very frustrating to me anyway, because where I come from "purity culture" means the abusive, harmful culture around sexuality in evangelical Christianity (and other religious communities).

Very frustrating to have a term used for my religious trauma turned into something meaningless to dodge answering difficult questions about ethics.
