TIL (while listening to a Richard Dawkins book) that the story of Noah's Flood was cribbed from Epic of Gilgamesh.
Yet another example of how the more I learn, the harder it is to take the Bible seriously. When a text would have resulted in academic discipline for plagiarism, it's hard to see why it should be accepted as literal gospel truth.
