I don’t understand this statement.

I would say these are two separate ideas, and their hypes are concurrents.
Some people around me say: “Don’t rush into this AI hype to build something - it might end up like the Bitcoin hype that faded after COVID.”

(The idea back then was to replace XDR currency with Bitcoin/crypto at a company that receives many payments from around the world, but it never gained traction and eventually evaporated after COVID.)

The AI hype replaced the crypto hype.
