Calling yourself a 'Friend to science' is a bit on the nose when the majority of universities, CSIRO, and ANSTO are cutting or have cut staff in the last year. Our institutions punch above their weight DESPITE successive government policies giving them the squeeze. We are such a wealthy country, we should be investing in our brains rather than relying on digging stuff out of the ground or hoarding housing.
