I wrote up my experience and thoughts with #Emacs use-package a while back. I never actually announced it anywhere. I suspect my opinion is not a popular one although I do know of others who refuse to use it.
It is just my opinion, and I don't mind that I don't understand why people use it. But I do think it's important to express my thoughts in wondering what it is that people see in it. Do people just use it because of social pressure? Or because packages often only give the use-package code for their usage?
I don't know. I gave it a solid chance and I'm more certain than ever that not using it is the best path for me.
