Because of the dangerous weather patterns there, they have a weather station at the summit next to where my hike was. In addition to watching forecasts in the days preceding the hike, I read the sunrise forecast and real-time wind speed, temp, and wind chill data on the morning of the hike. I was one of the few people properly prepared for the conditions— I had a full wind suit on at the top to withstand the freezing conditions— others had t-shirts and shorts!
