I can't help but think what this sort of thing looked like in the past, when it really *was* a meeting of a bunch of unelected kings, half of whom had inbred conditions and half of whom (not the other half, overlapping set) had syphilis.

Like... It's sobering to think that this modern arrangement is *better* than what came before, even if it's not good enough.
