It could also be that Tor is not connecting. You can check the number of relays.. new version tomorrow will fix some of these issues.
But yeah, nothing over 1000 follows works well on nostr, regardless of which client you use. Most relays don't even store lists with over 2000 follows. When it works, the client is just cropping the list, which means you might not see a 3rd or half of your follow's posts. You just don't notice what you can't see.
We made the feature with multiple lists to help people disperse a single follow list into many lists that you can try to use. It's not automated yet. But I can tell you that for sure Nostr will never work well with big lists and general relays.
