"Listening to birds reduces cortisol, slows your heartrate and triggers parasympathetic calm. Why? Because for 100.000+ years, birdsong meant, "You're safe". Your body still remembers."
My 2 cents on that: Not sure if the body still remembers and what science has to say about that, but it's easy to understand that as you grow up, you get a feeling over the years that when birds are still singing around you, your environment is safe, at least to some extent.
