I am going through a pretty rough time at the moment.
So I read "A Wizard's Guide to Defensive Baking" by the wonderful T. Kingfisher (aka Ursula Vernon).
This is a book that gave me both a glorious escape to a fast moving fantasy adventure , but also the reassurance that I am not "too sensitive" to bad people. They exist, and they must be opposed.
The cover says it's for middle schoolers, and indeed the two main protagonists are 14 and 11.
