In the US, where our medical coverage is generally tied to our job, this is another lever for employers to use to keep workers compliant.

It's hard to object too strenuously to toxic workplaces when that same workplace provides the medical coverage that allows your family to get the care then need to live full lives.

And that type of coercion lends itself very nicely to abuses.
