Without religion a person unknowingly believes good and evil is a point of view. I mean, who is to say what is good and what is evil! It's subjective.
In this case the concept of good and evil is how society rationalises power and it's interests. Blurring the line, is how we end up in degeneracy, decline and eventual collapse. The abandonment of God.
