Mushrooms can have so many common names that some enthusiasts prefer to rely on scientific names only.

But… scientific names can also be frustrating. The Late Fall Oyster has gone through at least 5 genus changes before they settled on Sarcomyxa serotina…. though some resources will still only refer to it as Panellus serotinus.

So I’ll be over here enjoying my Late Fall Oysters. Or my Olive Oysterlings. Or my Mukitake. Or my Green Oysters.
