I reckon fortune without fame would be pretty nice. I would rate the quadrants as such:
1. Fortune and fame: a lot of luxuries, a lot of problems. Zero privacy. Not what I want.
2. Fortune but no fame: freedom to live as you wish, without being harassed too much. Best case scenario, IMO.
3. No fortune, but fame: absolute hell, the worst possible option. Always being watched and judged. Toiling under surveillance. Always sad to see celebrities who blew their wealth end up in this category.
4. No fortune, no fame: a normal life, an honest living. How it's always been for me, and it's going fine. Builds a strong character and spirit, if you put in the work. Underappreciated. Second best option IMO, after private fortune.
If I remain in category 4 my whole life I wouldn't complain, but there's certainly a range of possibilities in there, some better than others.
