The US Dollar is NOT the global reserve currency. The global unit of account is the EuroDollar, it just so happens that it is currently pegged ~1:~1 exchange value.
I say ~1 because sometimes you can buy USD100k treasury for <USD100k cash/eurodollar ledger money and sometimes it is the other way around :)
