Why do you think an ego at the central bank (Fed) manipulated interest rates? It's a scheme allowing the government and elites closest to the newly printed money to spend time and energy they never earned on real things that took real energy and time to produce. After they spend trillions, the Fed steps in to raise interest rates, disallowing others access to the newly printed dough. Quite a scheme, eh?
