Great thoughts. I can give anyone a parabel: A couple of years ago Tesla owners thought highly of themselves- the enlightened ones. Some really literally stated convincingly that Tesla owner by the mere fact driving an EV are better humans than gazzoline fans.
Since religion doesn’t give us bearings anymore and many lack the social component of a community, those seek this warm feeling of being part of something “good” in other things.
Decency and humility is king, although it is hard sometimes
