As someone involved in the development of "freedom tech" it's becoming increasingly more illogical to be located in the UK. This is the country that was happy to lock up Julian Assange without charge, and all the world can see what is happening with free speech here right now. Maybe I should seek asylum elsewhere ;-)
As a contractor who has his own limited company, I have to write the physical cheque to pay government taxes. I'm finding it increasingly hard to justify on a moral basis handing that cheque over: Government contracts handed out to friends of the government, a propensity for war in foreign nations, an education system that is not fit for purpose, etc.
I think this will result in a country that is not going to be free or safe for my children to grow up in anymore - certainly by their adulthood at this trajectory.
That said, uprooting has big implications that I'm trying to work through at the moment.
I suspect those that have that have the means are already planning their exit.
