This is about a woman space Marine toughing out subsistence survival on a station filled w war refugees. Gritty, dark w sexual & physical abuse, not for everyone. Cherryh’s vivid, kinetic prose focuses on Bet’s journey (and less on the big picture scope of Downbelow Station and Cyteen).
