For a long time, I held the belief that Fritz Lan's Metropolis couldn't be re-made. That the primary theme was so rooted in its time, that it couldn't really translate to the late 20th/early 21st centuries. It would always be exclusively the work of Fritz Lang and Thea von Harbou. 1/
