just being even partially aware of the amount of labor and money and other resources involved in maintaining even the bare-minimum of what's necessary for the internet to work is overwhelming, and makes me kinda sad. I want to be able to connect with people without depending on all that. meshnets seem cool and like a possible way to decentralize those costs, but I don't have the technical knowledge to get involved right now. guess I should start learning!
nostr is, as always, somehow the best option in regards to what I want out of social technology that I have easy access to yet still not nearly good enough
