I'm always amused to find clickbait articles bemoaning other people's clickbait articles.
The NovaFuture article doesn't link to any of the other sites it claims ran the clickbait, so there's no way to verify that they say what it's complaining they say.
Via web search I was able to find just one article about the "trick" lambasted here. It made no claims about lowering heating bills and included most of the caveats included in the NovaFuture article.

Dozens of media outlets worldwide that call themselves "serious" are pushing a heating hack that contradicts basic physics. Nobody bothered to check what's really behind the clickbait headlines. We did! It's truly appalling and says a lot about the times we live in.
