Boeing sells planes with a very specific number of escape doors, at very specific intervals. They wont change this.
The major airlines, when they receive the planes, will remove one or more of the escape doors, and cover them, so they can install a few more seats, and make a couple hundred dollars more on each flight.
One of these after market door assemblies is what gave way recently on an Alaska Airlines flight. It has nothing to do with Boeing. This is entirely a big airline after-market thing.
The fact that major airlines are now coming out with stories about "finding loose bolts on Boeing planes" means the major airlines are staging a fake story in order to throw Boeing under the bus, and hide the fact that what caused the breach is a regular practice by all major airlines. If this story became widely known, the major airlines would be pressured to not use these panels, and fly the planes as they come from the factory, thus losing a couple hundred dollars per flight, and likely having to remove the panels and re-install the factory escape doors.

Greed incentives.

Dont trust, verify.
