The cause was a 51-year-old man who was working as a grinder, whose sparks set fire to dry grass nearby.
The fire completely filled the city with smoke, making it impossible for locals to breathe, and the airport had stopped working.
One rescuer died, but not from the fire – he was attacked by a bear.
