If it’s P2P, the user needs to have a “homeserver” so they can manage their own Access Control Lists (ACL). Pubky? Urbit? Something else?
But I think a big step up would also simply be decentralized identity, logging in to various centralized (optionally self hostable?) services. Like what Nuh (npub1jvx…7yqz) is working on.
Other than that, Nostr is fine for what it does. But most people using it today *are not the target audience*.
