But there's something much worse going on, something far more deceptive on the part of the #technology sector: it's the fact that OpenAI and Anthropic and Google and the other #GenAI vendors fraudulently market their stuff as "agentic", a word which is meant to conjure up the decades-old vision of a truly autonomous machine, an "automaton" or robot with self-sufficient sapience.
It's false. There's only the *illusion* of independent agents but each agent is merely a flimsy façade over a massively centralized and corporate-controlled "AI" installation. It's like the agents are all just paper faces pasted over an enormous pipeline, sucking up every bit of the user's personal information and forwarding it to the corporate databanks and their partners in government, and piping *confabulated gibberish* in the other direction.
