Sadly that point is not even on the table as Putin is actively fighting any russian nationalist sentiment, going so far to have the well known leader assasinated in jail, because his politics and propaganda are all about bringing back the soviet union. I trust guys like Denis Kapustin on that, who i don't know personally, but i share some mutuals with him who only talk good about him.
