I thought of getting out Densha de Go over the weekend, and got a reminder of how my never great Japanese skills haven’t improved after years of not studying it. Learning some Chinese in the meantime has been both a help (I can guess the meanings of the kanji) and a hindrance (“fēichángbureeki,” got it).
