You've gotten some pretty good feedback from people who are way more in the know that I am. But anyone can imagine how frustrating an imperfect upgrade can be.

If you, like me, did the upgrade via the dnf plugin (https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/upgrading-fedora-offline/), you might have noticed the red Warning! box at the beginning of the "Performing System Upgrade" section. It recommends doing a backup to start.

No matter which distro you go with, it would probably be a good idea to consider following that advice.
