SpaceX, led by Elon Musk, has launched over 7,000 Starlink satellites, controlling about two-thirds of all active satellites.
This is part of their mission to provide global internet and phone services. Starlink aims to reduce the digital divide by offering high-speed internet to remote areas, which traditional providers often can't reach.
With 6,370 active satellites in low-Earth orbit, SpaceX plans to expand this to 42,000 satellites.
Musk has mentioned that Starlink could handle over 90% of all space-based internet traffic next year.
