Very likely they told you so because they've read it in a channel very similar to the one I posted from Poland 🤦

Russians are running well funded advertising campaigns on social media, literally thousands of people working on it for salary, with many more volunteering. I'm subscribed to a Telegram channel where they coordinate these volunteers for just one such campaign and it's a daily stream of "today you post these memes", "today you post this comment on these groups" etc.

And I would imagine Germany is one of their main targets, just like Poland.
