i think its deeper than that, like why would corporations do something for free that costs them money, i don't really believe the government is paying for all the ais to spy on people, i think that ai is being intentionally made free to get people reliant so that when ai starts to become paid only, people are unable to think for themselves and are forced to pay
like look at scam altman saying he literally wants ai to become as normal as a utility bill, if corporations are enabling people to be unable to think for themselves, and then just straight replacing all the jobs, even before the issues with training data, electricity use etc, this is a big problem for society
