I prefer a punishment that restores the victim to their status before the crime happened and hopefully prevents reoccurances. Steal a TV? Return it with like 10% compensation of it's value. This gets difficult at violence like stabbings or rape though. Sadly, I lean philosophically pacifist though so maybe banishment to a desert or something.. Perhaps that's just the Aussie in me 🤔
