why should children work payed jobs if they don't need to? Having a boss, responsibilities, goals and independence can all be experienced with volunteering for a good cause. Here in the Netherlands for example, children are often employed in supermarkets. What would a child experience there that couldn't be experienced by helping out at an animal shelter, or playing bridge in a care facility?
