I don't have good memories of my last visit there - overrun by Russian tourists, "women", alcohol, gambling ships on the Mandovi. Garbage everywhere. The tides would bring in all sorts of rubbish including broken light bulbs, syringes etc.
The beautiful Goan culture was hard to find. Plus it is the only time in all of my 15 or so trips, that I have been harassed in India - by a group of men as I walked along the Mandovi in Panjim.
Broke my heart.
