⚡️🇧🇷👽💸 WTF - Someone risked $1.1 million on Polymarket... betting that no aliens would interrupt a World Cup match.
Brazilian influencer Vó Bahiana, who has about 24 million followers on Instagram, posted a video claiming that aliens would appear during the Brazil–Scotland match in Miami and start abducting players and fans.
The video quickly went viral, to the point that Polymarket opened a market allowing people to bet on whether this prediction would come true.
One user then bet nearly $1.1 million on “No.” After the final whistle and the complete absence of an alien invasion, he won his bet… with a profit of only about $1,170.
This was a completely absurd risk/reward ratio, yielding a return of about 0.1%, even though the prediction had very little chance of coming true.
