over/under on just using matrix.org for hosting a private discord replacement? Docs are kinda sparse and reddit threads aren't awesome to find the info I'm looking for

Obviously using the main server partly negates the federation advantages, but I want high uptime and I don't trust my server not to just be ass, and I also don't really want to expose something like that to the internet without having the proper networking backbone to secure it.

Is there limits to the number of users you can have in a private space on matrix dot org or anything? Limit to the number of people in a call? Stuff like that
