Thank you, but it’s really just a bit of a rant. Farming is constantly repackaged as a target for hate, by successive governments. The suppression of farm gate prices, using the private sector as enforcers, to keep food cost artificially low is a political tactic to also suppress wages. This backfiring massively, as the inevitable costs to society of poor nutrition and bad food choices are swallowing our economy whole and swamping our health services.
And the people working 100 hour weeks in all weathers for barely minimum wage, to literally keep us alive, are the cartoon villains. Look! I bet they vote Tory! Wipe them out! Where’s all my food gone?
