🔘Baptistery of the Church of Vitalis🔘
•Located in Sbeitla an ancient Roman town in Tunisia.
•Sbeitla was most likely originated as a fort during the Roman campaigns against the Numidian rebel Tacfarinas (AD 17–24).
•The Byzantine church of Vitalis was built in the 5th / early 6th century.
•Although the basilica is largely gone, portions of its baptistery have survived.
•The baptistery, whose architecture and shape of the tank, are richly decorated with a cross at the bottom and on the sides, florets on the vertical walls, a laurel garland on the rim, and an inscription recalling that the tank had been offered following a wish by Vitalis and Cardela.
•The so-called Basilica of Vitalis, was built as a result of the need for a larger space for the Catholic community.
•Measuring about 50 meters long by 25 meters wide and accessible by four side doors.
