So much of what I've seen in a 20+ year peripheral involvement in NZ education (OOH Arts & Music teacher with Ministry of Education since late 90s, current BOT member in a Dunedin high school) is that achievement is a *social* outcome. Our ability to deliver strong results for kids is a product of the social environment they are expected to work within.
