So much interesting synth-pop came out in the 1970s and 1980s!

The synth lines that Pete Townshend started using with 1971's "Who's Next" and Eddie Van Halen's synth keyboards on 1983's "Jump" are well worth a mention outside of the pure synth-pop genre.

But me, I'm a sucker for 1985's first release by Propaganda (to my ears, the synth-pop sound's maturity).

Cheers!
